Founded in 1952, Bell Techlogix has been around a while longer than the technology we use today. We have worked with Marian University Indianapolis over the last 10 years, and have been involved with everything from concept to disposal of their on campus technology. When they came to us with the need to refresh their data center, we knew it was time to take a different approach and update much of their technology. The previous college server wasn’t virtualized at all and the technology for this part of their infrastructure was terribly outdated.

We put together several different options for them and had a fair amount of trial and error to see that they could benefit from consolidating all their physical servers, but they also needed a better solution for backup and recovery in the event of a disaster. At that point, we introduced them to Bluelock.

When Marian University was introduced to Bluelock by Bell, they had a growing list of IT priorities that needed be accomplished in 2009. The Bluelock solution that was presented to them helped initially take off 38% of the items from that list which proved to be unnecessary or could be consolidated into other items.

Bluelock gives Bell the ability to continue to do what they do well, take care of their clients from a trusted partner perspective and continue to recommend hardware solutions.

The relationship that Bell has formed with Bluelock largely started with the Marian University engagement. Bell has now expanded that relationship to a much broader set of customers, and is taking that model out to the other independent colleges and into larger commercial accounts to talk about best practices around disaster recovery, data replication and how the Bluelock solution can improve the availability of technology across all business sectors.
